About Us

The story behind Tectonics Builders and the experience that continues to shape our work today.

Tectonics Builders is a Nelson County–based custom homebuilder serving Central Virginia, including Charlottesville, Wintergreen, and the surrounding Blue Ridge communities.

The word “tectonics” in architecture refers to the art and science of assembling materials in construction. At Tectonics Builders, we believe a well-built home is the result of thoughtful design, skilled craftsmanship, and a strong partnership between builder and homeowner.

Our team works closely with clients from the earliest planning stages through construction, guiding each project with experience, organization, and attention to detail. We focus on quality materials, sound building practices, and homes designed to perform beautifully for years to come.

From modern mountain retreats to timeless custom homes, Tectonics Builders creates spaces that reflect the character of the land and the people who live there.
